Something similar happened with these cookies.
Last week I started out to make Batternburg cake, it’s a 2 check cake covered in Marzipan. The Marzipan, recipe called for powdered Almonds and powdered Sugar. I dint have those in powdered form so, to save time I decided to powder them together.
The two did not grind well to the fine texture that is needed for Marzipan dough, ideally it should have.
So anyways, I decided to add milk to make a smooth paste but in vain! Instead, I ended up with a very thick and sticky mass of roughly grounded almonds, sugar, cocoa (was making chocolate marzipan) and milk. It was certain that the Marzipan was not coming together so I stored the mass for later use. Had already decided of using it to make cookies.
On the day of baking, I added egg and flour to the failed Marzipan mix and made these cookies.
They turned out awesome, was really happy how a failed result of one recipe could be turned into a delicious product of another.

CHOCOLATE ALMOND COOKIES
Makes 9
1 cup Almonds
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
1/2 cup flour (maida)
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
- Powder Almonds and sugar together.
- In a bowl, beat the egg.
- Mix in milk and Vanilla essence.
- Mix the almond-sugar mixture.

Lastly, sieve the dry ingredients directly over the bowl and mix everything well to form a thick batter.

Spread out cookies on a baking tray lined with butter paper.

Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 200 C for 15minutes.

Remove cookies and let them cool completely.

Dip cookies in melted chocolate and sprinkle chopped Almonds. This is optional.
