A good appetizer or party snack needs to be an ultimate combination of a Gourmet recipe and Quick recipe. Rarely do both combine to give an ideal dish but thankfully this recipe of Grilled Chicken Skewers is spot on!
As fancy as it sounds, on the contrary the dish is so simple to prepare with just handful of ingredients.
What I like about this dish (besides it being so easy to make) is that it has a very good mix of meat and vegetables, a great way to ensure balanced protein and fiber intake.
These Grilled Chicken Skewers are very easy and convenient to make. Usually they end up being served as weekend dinner and the whole family enjoys them along with a salad and breads at the side.
One doesn’t need to prepare well in advance or buy fancy ingredients for making the skewers. A last minute decision to prepare something gourmet is possible with this recipe!
Grilled Chicken Skewers
400gms Boneless Chicken, cut into cubes 1 cup curd, whisked 1 teaspoon red chili powder 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste Salt
Assorted vegetables Mushrooms, Coloured Bell Peppers, Onion, Tomato, Babycorn, etc – all cut into big chunks
Step 1 – Mix chicken with curd, chilli powder, ginger – garlic paste and salt. Keep aside for minimum 30 minutes.
Step 2 – When ready to cook, start threading vegetables and chicken cubes (alternately) on a metal or wooden skewer or satay sticks.
Step 3 – Gently apply the marinade all over the skewers and cook them on a grill or griddle while frequently applying oil.
Step 4 – Before serving, sprinkle chaat masala and squeeze some lemon juice over the skewers and serve immediately.
Best served with a dip or chutney of choice.
